Fostering with ARRI

Open Your Heart And Home… Become a Foster Family!

Foster families are critical to our mission and make it possible for ARRI to help even more animals. We depend on foster homes for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens who are not quite ready for adoption, recovering from surgery, needing additional medical care – or who just need a break from shelter life. As a foster, you’ll truly be changing lives!

Fostering a shelter animal can be a wonderful opportunity to have some furry companionship while providing an animal in need with a comfortable home environment. Fostering can be especially attractive to retirees or folks who have recently lost a pet and aren’t ready for a permanent new addition. Depending on the animal’s needs, fostering can last from a few weeks to several months.

Fostering has a tremendous impact not only on the animals in foster, but also the staff and other animals at the shelter. We can do more because of you. We provide all the supplies and support you need. You provide the love!

We’re especially interested in foster homes that have no other animals. However, there are times when having other pets in the home is just fine.

To be a foster caregiver, we ask that you be at least 18 years old and have reliable transportation, some experience caring for animals, and a safe, separate area in your home for the foster animal. Interested? Please complete a foster application by clicking below.
