Maxx is a handsome 13-year-old boy. He’ll celebrate his 14th birthday on April 21.
His DNA test results show he is 50% American bulldog, 25% Lab, and 25% bully breed.
About fourteen years ago, Maxx’s now-parents had recently lost their beloved Rottweiler to canine lymphoma. A friend was visiting them from Chicago, and he brought Maxx, who he’d rescued from the Chicago streets. The friend thought Maxx, only 5 months old at the time, was the ‘Picasso’ of dogs, and would be perfect for them. The friend was right – they fell in love with Maxx, and he’s been a happy Rhode Island resident ever since.

Now, Maxx spends his days doing the things he loves: going on long walks, napping on the sofa, taking boat rides in the summer, and playing at the beach.
Maxx spent many years as a comfort dog, bringing love and support to people of all ages. He’s now retired, and we are honored he is ARRI’s 2024 Mascot!
