Dear Friends,
I’ve always been passionate about helping animals and began donating to ARRI many years before I became its executive director. Over time, I’ve learned that donating is especially gratifying because I know without a doubt that my donations always change lives: both the lives of the pets at our shelter and the lives of the families who open their hearts and homes to them.
Walking through the shelter and looking into the eyes of the animals in our cages and kennels, I’m immediately motivated to do more: spend more time with them, find more adopters, and save even more animals. To do more, however, we need your help. The cost of caring for the pets at ARRI has increased dramatically, yet we’re determined to ensure they all have the veterinary care and enrichment they need. Whether you’re an adopter, volunteer, donor, or all of those, your support makes a world of difference for the cats and dogs in our care. I invite you all to join me in giving to our Whisker Wonderland campaign, knowing that any amount, no matter how small, is important. | Meet Edgar, a story of hope showcasing the profound impact of compassion.
Edgar, a twelve-year-old fluffy black cat, had been living in a car with his owner after they unexpectedly became homeless. An affectionate purring machine, Edgar desperately needed a stable home, and his owner had nowhere else to turn. Edgar found safety at ARRI, where he also received much-needed veterinary care.

| Volunteer Orientation, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom
Current Need: Dog Walkers Comfortable Walking Dogs >50 pounds ARRI’s next volunteer orientation will be held on December 3, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom. At this time, we are looking for volunteers who are comfortable walking dogs greater than 50 pounds.
If you are interested in other volunteer opportunities at ARRI, you are welcome to join this orientation, but please understand that it may be a while before we can add you to our onsite schedule as our other onsite volunteer positions, including in our cat room, are currently full. |
