Dear Friends,
Thank you to everyone who joined us at Bark on the Beach! It was a beautiful day, and more than 250 dogs walked along Narragansett Town Beach. Our walkers, sponsors, and other donors collectively made it a huge success!
Thank you, too, to everyone who came aboard for our sunset cruise two weeks ago. We saw old friends and made new ones, and together we watched a gray day disappear into a spectacular sunset. We’re already looking forward to another cruise next year!
At a time when the costs of basic shelter needs, such as food, supplies, and veterinary care, have increased significantly, your support is needed more than ever. Whether you join us at an event or donate at another time, you can be confident that every donation is helping to save lives – and we couldn’t do it without you!

This October, we’re partnering with Subaru of New England for their annual #SNELovesPets
Campaign! As part of their Subaru Love Promise and Subaru Loves Pets commitment, Subaru is committed to keeping animals across New England safe and healthy. The campaign is also a fundraising opportunity for twelve non-profit animal shelters throughout New England (including ARRI!). Getting involved is easy - and we encourage all pet owners to participate! We know you
probably have dozens of pictures or videos of your best friend on your phone’s camera roll. During October, post your pet on:
Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), or TikTok using the hashtag #SNELovesPets (be sure the post is public for visibility).
For each unique post, Subaru of New England will pledge $5 to local New England animal shelters. Each participating organization will receive $6,250 if the goal of 15,000 pictures is reached. The more photos submitted, the more we can raise awareness about the importance of adopting! Thank you! |

Did you know we offer more than 20 free programs for early learners through adult audiences, as well as for entire families?
Just in time for Halloween, join us on October 26th for “Misunderstood Animals”, also known as “Icky to Awesome”. You'll learn about some "icky" or scary animals -from bats and spiders to snakes and wolves - and you'll see why they're misunderstood. This interactive program is designed for everyone from 2nd grade to adult. |

80 Shelter Pets Airlifted to New England, Making Room for Furry Survivors Displaced by Hurricane Francine |

BISSELL Pet Foundation coordinated and funded a transport flight of nearly 80 homeless cats and dogs from Louisiana to shelters and rescues in ME, NH, NJ, RI, and VT. The pets on this flight were homeless and awaiting adoption at Jefferson Protection and Animal Welfare Services (JPAWS) in Harvey, LA, prior to Hurricane Francine’s landfall. This effort provided disaster relief to JPAWS, whose most critical need was space to take in pets displaced by the storm. ARRI was honored to welcome 10 pets - 4 dogs and 6 cats - from this transport to give each of them a second chance.
The cats have been adopted, while three wonderful dogs, Bubba (pictured above), Cassim, and Wildie, are waiting to find their loving homes. To learn more about them, please click the Adoptable Friends link: |

We just wanted you to know just how well Finny has adapted to his new life. He’s just in love with his new family, and we’re in love with him. He’s smart, curious, full of puppy energy, and yes, a ‘goofball,’ as you described him in his bio. We are all getting between 15 and 20K steps a day taking him on walks and hikes, and all of the neighbors have said how friendly and handsome he is. As an added bonus, our next door neighbors have a big black lab and he and Finny have become best pals. They have daily play dates and get to run like crazy in our adjoining yards.
We feel very lucky (and we’re sure Finn does, too). Best,
